Should Yasiel Puig be an All-Star?

Since coming to the majors in early June, Yasiel Puig has taken the country
by storm. He has done everything from steal bases to hit home runs.
The only question left, is if he should be an All-Star.

Yasiel Puig has taken the baseball world by storm the last three weeks. Ever since being called up to the Dodgers on June 3rd all he has done is impress. From great plays in the outfield, to hitting two Home Runs in his second career game. The only thing he hasn't done is hit for the cycle in his first three weeks. All of this begs the question of if he should be an All-Star. Here's my take on the matter...

I posted my National League All-Star starters earlier today and if you read it you would see that Yasiel Puig was not on it. I love the player that Puig has become the last few weeks but there is no way that he deserves a starting spot on the All-Star team. Well then you say he can be a reserve. That is true, but what about the players that have played the whole year that deserve that reserve outfield spot? Do they just get pushed to the side like they don't matter just because Puig had a great three weeks? That's what most baseball fans don't understand.

To make the All-Star team you have to have a great first HALF of the season. Players like Jay Bruce have had a great past three weeks but you don't see everyone putting him in the outfield for the All-Star Game. What about Dominic Brown? He had a great couple weeks as well, should he be an All-Star starter? In my opinion, you should have to play at least two months of the season to be voted on the All-Star team. Not everyone agrees with that so here is how I believe Puig could be put on the All-Star team.

The only way Puig should make the All-Star team is if someone that is voted on the All-Star team gets injured. I understand the fans want to see Puig because he is a sensation right now, but I just can't fathom a player like Carlos Beltran, who is tied with Allen Craig for the best average with runners in scoring position, getting snubbed for a player like Puig who has played for three weeks. This game really matters for home field advantage in the World Series and the best players throughout the first half should play in it. If your team makes it to the World Series you would want home field advantage, so vote for the best players of the first half. You can disagree with my opinion but if you do, I would like to here your opinion on it. Feel free to comment if you wish.

seen that he can do it all, but will he be an All-Star? You now have
my opinion on it.
